Arrowroot is a gluten free starch that’s used in baking and cooking gluten free food. It is used as a thickener and adds richness to soups, stews and in baked goods. It comes from the arrowroot plant or cassava root and is grain free and vegan.
It doesn’t have much flavor so it’s great to use to thicken a recipe without altering the flavor. You can also use it as a replacement for corn starch if you don’t tolerate corn.
