Healthy Oatmeal Pumpkin Dog Treats

How To Enjoy

I love making these organic, healthy dog treats for my pup. They are soft and chewy with a good amount of fiber in them. I recommend the NordicWare Puppy Love Pan to create these dog treats. Serve 1-2 treats depending on your dog's size per day. These will last in the fridge for a week.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bob's Red Mill GF Organic Quick Cooking Rolled Oats, pulsed into flour
  • 1/2 cup oats, whole
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup canned organic pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup organic applesauce, plain & unsweetened
  • 1 tbl organic coconut oil, melted

Directions

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Pulse 1 cup of the oats in a small food processor to make a flour consistency. Transfer to a mixing bowl when done.

Step 2

Pour 1/2 cup of the whole oats into the bowl with the oat flour. Add the pumpkin puree and applesauce to the bowl.

Step 3

Heat 1 tbl coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave for 15 seconds to melt. Pour the melted oil into the bowl with the other ingredients.

Step 4

Stir together thoroughly. It will have a thick texture.

Step 5

Use a spoon to transfer mixture into the puppy love pan. Use your hands to help shape it into the tray.

Step 6

Bake for 15 minutes for soft and chewy treats. Or bake for 18-20 minutes to make them a bit harder, but still chewy. When cooled, remove from tray and place in airtight glass container. Store in refrigerator and serve either cold or at room temperature.
